Twitter Updates

Welcome to CELL*WISE

I am currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Cell and Tissue Engineering. I plan to complete and defend my dissertation by the end of December 2007. Hopefully then, I can further pursue exciting cell and tissue engineering research at one of the wonderful places listed in the left sidebar of this blog.
I am just getting this blog started, so I will soon be writing actual posts of my own. For right now, I have placed and organized many interesting and relevant links in the sidebars.

First there is the "Newsreel". This will contain news clips that are automatically updated each day and powered by Google. The default category is the first one "cell and tissue engineering", but you can also view others by clicking on "stem cells", "biomedical engineering", "biomaterials", or "nanobiotechnology".
There is also the "Blogroll" which lists other blogs that I have found that are about science, engineering, biomedical engineering, etc. The blogs listed in the "Blogroll" will give other people's opinions/perspectives and news from other regions that you may not find here at CELL*WISE. These other blogs will also give me a good idea of which topics are getting a lot of attention from others (and what topics are not).
Another category is "Popular Media (Science and Engineering News)", which contains links to several popular online magazines and websites that will give daily updated news. Most of these sites cover a broad range of science/engineering/health/medicine/biotech topics, although they will occasionally have news more focused on cell and tissue engineering, which is a main focus of this blog.
Therefore, the "Newsreel", "Blogroll", and "Popular Media (Science and Engineering News)" will be good sources for at least daily updated science-related news.

The next categories of links are "Biomedical Engineering", "Cell and Tissue Engineering", "Stem Cells", "Biomaterials", and "Nanobiotechnology/Nanomedicine", which are all the more specific areas on which this blog will focus. The links provided in each category are all important links that I am aware of at this time. Most of these links are to websites designed and used primarily by the scientific community and contain detailed information, research news, and resources.

Other categories will be "Journals/Publications", "Societies/Conferences" and "Companies/Industry" which contain all of the best relevant (biomedical/cell and tissue engineering-related) links that I could find.

As I become aware of any other prominent websites that should be listed in any of these categories, I will be sure to add them.

Look forward to much more here at CELL*WISE.

Update 11-16-07. I have changed the template and placement of many of the sidebar items and links. Read about the new template for CELL*WISE in this post here.
